Route 44U - Fair Park-Whitnall UBUS

Service Alerts for Route 44U

•  The following is the UBUS service schedule during exams and breaks for the 2012 spring semester. Please read carefully:

  When UWM is on spring recess, the 40U will run the exam/break schedule from Monday, March 19, 2012 through Friday, March 23, 2011.

  However, while UWM is on break from Monday, March 19, 2012 through Friday, March 23, 2012, the 44U and 49U will NOT be operating.

  The 40U, 44U and 49U will resume regular service Monday March 26, 2012.

  The 40U, 44U and 49U will continue to run regular schedules during MATC’s spring break from Friday, April 6, 2012 through Friday, April 15, 2012. The 42U will NOT run while MATC is on break.

  At the end of the semester the 40U, 44U and 49U will run regular service through Thursday, May 10, 2012 and an exam schedule starting Friday, May 11, 2012 through Friday, May 18, 2012.

  The 42U will continue running through Friday, May 18, 2011. 

  There will be no UBUS service after Friday, May 18, 2012 until the fall 2012 semester.

  Reminder: UBUSes do NOT operate on weekends.

• Effective Thursday, March 1, 2012, due to the resurfacing project on eastbound I-94 the on ramp to I-94 east at 68th street is closed. Due to this closure and also to avoid congestion, the 44U will be using detour routing during off-peak times and additional alternate routing during the morning and evening peak times.  The route 44U will detour as follows:
  
  Eastbound ONLY Route 44U (from 76th & Kearney)
  Between 7:00 AM & 9:00 AM and 3:30 PM & 5:30 PM (Rush hours)
  Continue east on Kearney to 68th Street, north to Bluemound, east to Wisconsin, east to 2nd Street, south to Michigan, east to Lincoln Memorial Drive, north to regular route.
  
  Between 9:00 AM & 3:30 PM and 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM (Off-peak hours)
  South on 76th Street to Main Street (Main runs through the State Fair parking lot), west to 84th Street, north to Kearney, east to on ramp for eastbound I-94.

• Effective Monday, February 27, 2012, the Route 44U will be changing due to the repaving project on I-94. During this project additional service has been added to the 44U to better serve customers and to help reduce congestion.

  Please click here for the new 44U times that will be effective starting February 27, 2012. New schedules reflecting these changes, as well as changes to the exam schedule, will be onboard buses starting February 22, 2012.
