The notion of MCTS Excellence goes back to 1860, which was the beginning of public transit in Milwaukee. Back then "Motormen" practiced the same type of excellence our bus drivers do today.
The 1897 policy (seen in the picture below) for transit employees in Milwaukee looked an awful lot like what our current policy reads today. MCTS employees put the customers first.
The vehicles look different and the uniforms are more comfortable, but this tradition of excellence continues today.
