Passenger Behavior
All Ozaukee County Shared-Ride passengers are to act and behave appropriately while utilizing taxi services. Ozaukee County Transit Services has zero tolerance for inappropriate behavior. If a passenger becomes offensive, threatens others or is otherwise disorderly; Ozaukee County shall have the right to suspend service or impose other disciplinary actions for an individual for a given amount of time, up to and including permanent suspension from use of the Ozaukee County Shared-Ride Taxi. Determination of the nature of the disciplinary action or on the length of time suspended shall be made by the Transit Director as deemed appropriate.
Suspensions or disciplinary actions can be appealed to the Public Works Committee for further review and consideration upon receipt of a written notice of appeal to the Transit Director. Said notice should contain a detailed explanation of the reasons for modifying the disciplinary or suspension action imposed.
Bodily Discharge
Passengers who have any noticeable bodily discharge (whether due to open sores, wounds, eliminations, etc.) may be refused service if such discharge is evident. The driver may request that the passenger exit the vehicle if such discharge becomes evident after they have boarded. Bodily discharges could potentially pose a biohazard threat to other passengers
Stand-by
A ?Stand-by? request occurs when a passenger asks that the driver wait while the passenger exits the vehicle for a period of time to conduct their personal business. For example, waiting for a passenger to pick up a prescription.
Due to the nature of public transportation Ozaukee County Shared-RideTaxi is unable to accommodate requests to stand-by for clients.
No Shows
A ?No Show? is defined as a client not being ready to depart, not being there when the driver arrives or not having the fare for the ride. Three no-shows within a 60-day period can result in up to a one month suspension.
Once reinstated, if a second occurrence happens within 60 days, the suspension will be extended up to 45 days. After the third infraction, the suspension will be up to 60 days. Further habitual violations will result in disciplinary action up to and including ineligibility to use the Ozaukee County Shared-Ride Taxi.
A ?No Show? is determined when we arrive for the passenger at the time we notified the passenger we would be there, within a window of 30 minutes each side of the scheduled time. When we arrive for the passenger, the driver will notify dispatch that the passenger is not present. At that time, the dispatcher will make every attempt to contact the passenger. If the passenger cannot be contacted within 3 minutes, that driver will be advised by dispatch to ?No Show? and proceed.
If the ?No Show? was made on the first leg of their travel itinerary then all other trips scheduled for the day will be cancelled. Drivers are not to go back for a passenger at the first leg of their travel itinerary. This passenger must reschedule their travel plans for another day.
If the No Show happens on any other leg of their trip, we will make every attempt to get back to pick them up at the first available time allocated.
At no time will we ?No Show? a dialysis passenger on any leg of a trip unless advised by the passenger and/or the clinic.
