MCTS Offers Service to and from Briggs & Al's Run & Walk


MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) offers an easy and affordable way to get to and from the Briggs & Al’s Run & Walk for Children’s Hospital on Saturday, September 14, 2019.

Freeway Flyer service on Route 44 begins at 8:30 a.m. and runs approximately every 15 minutes until 9:30 a.m. from the State Fair Park-Ride Lot at 76th Street and Kearney Street. Flyers will take riders to 16th Street and Wisconsin Avenue — just a few blocks from the event's starting line at 12th Street and Wisconsin Avenue.

Return-trip riders will board the Flyers at the South Gate of Henry Maier Festival Park between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Return trips run approximately every 15 minutes.

Parking is free at the State Fair Park-Ride Lot. Riders utilizing the MCTS Freeway Flyers on Saturday must pay their round trip fare while boarding buses at the State Fair Park-Ride Lot. Fare details are below:

  • When paying with cash, Freeway Flyer fare is $7 for adults and $3 for children ages 6 to 11, seniors ages 65 and older, and disabled persons with proper ID.
  • When paying with an M•CARD, fare is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 6 to 11, seniors (65 and over) and disabled persons with proper ID.
  • Riders may also use a valid 24-hour e-ticket on the Ride MCTS app, which costs $5 to buy.
  • The U-PASS, the GO Pass with a $1-Day Pass plus 80 cents, the New Freedom Pass and the Commuter Value Pass are all accepted as full fare on Freeway Flyers.

Note that event organizers are providing a free transportation shuttle on Saturday that operates between the finishing line and starting line. Click here for details. The MCTS Freeway Flyer service outlined above requires riders to pay their full fare when boarding at the State Fair Park-Ride Lot.
