'Doors Open' Offers Behind-the-Scenes Look at MCTS Fleet Maintenance Facility

MILWAUKEE - Get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at MCTS’s Fleet Maintenance Facility during Doors Open Milwaukee on Saturday, September 28, 2019.

The complex, located at 1525 W. Vine Street, handles major mechanical repairs and body work for more than 375, 11-ton buses — all to keep Milwaukee County residents moving!

Take a tour and see how our skilled crews handle the toughest and biggest jobs, including diesel engines and body frames. MCTS staff will lead you on a 30-minute tour of the building’s Mechanical Repair Shop, Body Shop, Paint Hangar, and more.

No reservations needed. Tours begin every half hour, running from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Riding the bus to get here? Routes 23, 57 and the BlueLine all have stops within walking distance of MCTS's Fleet Maintenance Facility.

Doors Open Milwaukee is a public celebration of Milwaukee’s art, architecture, culture and history. The event offers behind-the-scenes tours of more than 170 buildings throughout Milwaukee’s Downtown area and other neighborhoods.
