What is Pre>Fare?
MCTS Pre>Fare is the fastest way to get to Summerfest!

After you buy your Pre>Fare ticket online you will get an email with a QR Code; that’s your ticket! Print the email out or bring your phone on board with you at any of the 10 Park-Ride lots served by MCTS for Summerfest* and you’re on your way to the Big Gig. You'll scan the code once you get off the bus at Summerfest.

How much does it cost?
Each regular fare ticket is $6.00 – that’s $1.00 cheaper than paying with cash!

How does it work?
Easy as 1, 2, 3!

  1. Go to RideMCTS.com/PreFare to buy your ticket.
  2. Get your unique QR code via email.
  3. Ride the bus and scan your code when you arrive at Summerfest!

Can I buy more than one ticket?
Of course! Buy one for your friends, your spouse, your children – there is no limit!

If I buy a Pre>Fare ticket for someone else how can I send it to them?
After you complete your purchase you’ll have the opportunity to send the digital ticket to someone else, or you can forward the email you get with your ticket information – whatever is easiest for you. Whether it’s one ticket or ten, you’ll simply get a single QR Code that you can share with others.

What if I buy a Pre>Fare ticket for someone else and we want to ride together?
No problem. Go to a Park-Ride lot with your friends or family at the same time, get on the bus and scan your Pre>Fare ticket when you get off the bus at Summerfest. Our scanners can tell how many riders were paid for.

I bought a Pre>Fare ticket but I’m not seeing it in my email.
You will receive an email receipt shortly after confirming your purchase. If you’re not seeing an e-receipt from MCTS/Tixora, please check your email account’s Spam or Junk folder to ensure the message was not filtered.

I plan to go to Summerfest a lot, can I buy all my Pre>Fare tickets at once?
Yes! There’s no limit to the number of Pre>Fare tickets you can purchase at once. To make it easy for you, all of your tickets are on one QR code, so you can use it time and time again until your rides have run out.

When I click to buy a ticket I’m directed to a site called Tixora, what’s up with that?
Tickets are sold through Tixora.com, a Milwaukee based e-ticket startup company. MCTS has teamed up with Tixora to sell Pre>Fare tickets, click here to learn more about them.

How can I pay for a Pre>Fare ticket?
You can use all major credit cards or PayPal to buy a Pre>Fare ticket.

I bought a Pre>Fare ticket but can’t use it, can I get a refund?
Unfortunately, no. Much like on our regular fare we do not offer refunds. We are also not responsible for lost or stolen tickets.

I accidentally bought a reduced fare ticket but don’t qualify, what should I do?
Unfortunately, you can only use reduced fare if you are ages 6-11 or 65 years or older or have a disability recognized by the Federal Transportation Agency. If you accidently purchased a reduced fare Pre>Fare ticket, you can share that with someone who qualifies and then purchase a regular fare ticket for yourself.

I’m having trouble with my credit card or payment info, what should I do?
Your card might be declined for various reasons. Please check to make sure that the name and address entered in the “Payment” field are entered exactly as this information appears on the statements you receive from the issuing bank or financial institution. Also, confirm that the credit card number, expiration date and card verification number are correct. If this doesn’t work, please contact your issuing bank or financial institution to verify your information, and make sure there are no holds placed on your account.

Will I be charged sales tax?

I have an M•CARD, do I need to buy a Pre>Fare ticket?
No, you can also use your M•CARD, Commuter Value Pass, UPASS and other passes to ride any of our Freeway Flyers to Summerfest. Click here to see the fares if you are using an M•CARD.

Can I get a ride to Summerfest by paying with cash?
Of course.  Just remember, cash fare is more expensive than Pre>Fare ($7.00 vs $6.00).

I found a Pre>Fare ticket on Craigslist (or another site), is it okay for me to buy it?
