Updated March 11, 2020:
Nothing is more important than the health and safety of our customers and employees.
When you choose to ride with MCTS, you’re putting your trust in our hands. We’ve worked for 160 years to provide a customer-focused public transportation service, and everything we’ve learned in the past helps us protect our customers today. That includes our daily bus cleaning processes.
Although COVID-19 has not become widespread in Milwaukee County, MCTS has proactively implemented an extra daily disinfection process on all buses using EPA-approved and CDC-recommended cleaning products. That’s in addition to the standard cleaning our vehicles receive on a regular basis. We did this out of an abundance of caution for public safety.
We are in constant contact with local health officials and are prepared to take further action, as needed, to protect our employees and the public.
We’re all on board together. It’s important to remember the simple steps everyone can take to prevent the spread of respiratory viruses. The CDC recommends:
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use hand sanitizer.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick
- Cover your cough or sneeze
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
- Stay home when you are sick
We understand that, for our customers, bus travel is vital. That’s why we continue to provide essential transit services to connect you to work, school and life.
