January 2018 Public Hearing Notice


Notice is hereby given that the Committee on Transportation, Public Works and Transit of the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at 9:00 A.M. in Room 201-B, Milwaukee County Courthouse, 901 North Ninth Street, Milwaukee, WI.

Milwaukee County intends to implement service reductions in accordance with the 2018 Adopted Budget to the Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) that will occur in March 2018 and August 2018. Service changes will include the following:

a. Abandon the addition of bus hours of service to Route 17

b. Eliminate low performing UBUS Route 42U (MATC North and Downtown) at the end of the Spring Semester 2018

c. Eliminate low performing every-day bus service on Route 276 (Brown Deer Business Park) in March 2018

d. Eliminate low performing weekday only bus service to business and industrial parks on Routes 219 (Oak Creek Industrial Park Shuttle) and 223 (Park Place – Bradley Woods Shuttle) in March 2018

e. Eliminate school day only services after the end of the 2017-2018 School Year on Routes 50 (Morgan Ave - Milwaukee & St. Francis), 85 (Wauwatosa Whitman – West), 87 (West Allis Nathan Hale), 88 (Cudahy), and 89 (St. Francis.)
