MCTS Buses to Feature a Traveling Zoo

Milwaukee, WI – Excited children across Milwaukee County will soon be able to see their favorite zoo animal without leaving their neighborhood. Announcing the new MCTS Traveling Zoo.

The MCTS Traveling Zoo is a first-of-its-kind idea that will merge the wonder of the zoo with the movement of the transit system. Service begins running on April 1st.

“It’s hard to believe no one has thought of this idea before,” said MCTS Zoologist Dr. Doris Dolittle. “Combining animals like lions, giraffes, elephants, birds and others in one space without walls or cages will make this a unique zoo experience. If cartoons and movies have taught us anything, after 20 minutes, these animals will be fast friends and on their way to some sort of adventure.”

The Traveling Zoo will visit all of the 60 routes and 5,500 stops in the MCTS system. Admission will be the same as bus fares, only $2.25 cash or $1.75 M•CARD for adults and only $1.10 for children ages 6 to 11.

“We love the Milwaukee County Zoo, it is truly a community jewel, but once they stepped into our territory by running their popular train, it was only a matter of time before we offered them some competition,” Dr. Dolitte added.
