How do I download the new app?
Download the Umo app on your smartphone from either the iOS App Store (for iPhone devices) and Google Play Store (for Android devices).
How do I create an account?
- Open the app and tap Get Started.
- The app works best when you allow it to identify your location, giving you access to all the local information you need to plan, buy and track your next trip.
- Tap Set Up Account.
- Set up your account with a mobile phone number, email or username and password.
After you register your mobile device and create a Umo account, you can then:
- Plan your trip – Plan your trip anywhere, at any time, and find your next bus with your own preferences such as arrival time, departure time, fewest transfers, less walking.
- Track your bus – Access estimated bus arrival info data for timely trip planning.
- Pay a fare – You can purchase a fare using My Wallet in the app. You can pay through the app using a credit card or debit card only.
How do I buy a fare?
Once you buy a fare through the app, it activates immediately! So only buy the fare when you’re ready to use it.
The Umo App has two types of fares:
- $2 – 105-minute fare – The fare is valid for 105 minutes instead of 90 minutes, giving you some extra time from purchase to validation.
- $5 – 24-hour fare – The 24-hour fare (day pass) allows you unlimited rides within the day that you purchase them (ex. If you buy the fare at 8:00 a.m., it is good until 7:59 a.m. the next morning).
Does a fare expire?
Yes. Fares expire within 105 minutes (for a 105-minute fare) or 24-hours (for a 24-hour fare).
Can I add my MCARD funds to the app?
No. You may continue to use your MCard balance until early 2023.
When can I use the fare I purchase from the app?
You must use it immediately upon purchase. It is best to book your trip only when you are ready to use your fare.
How do I purchase a group fare?
The group fare purchase option is not available via the WisGo fare collection system. The account-based system operates on individual accounts.
Can a parent load a credit card into an account?
Yes. A parent can log into their child’s account on the mobile app and load a credit card into their child’s account. Note: Fares purchased via the app activate immediately so if you prefer stored value, the MCard is an option.
Do you accept Apple Pay & Google Pay?
Yes! Click here to read additional FAQs about Apple Pay & Google Pay.
How much is the fare for children?
The Umo App doesn’t currently offer a reduced fare option, so you can purchase a $2 fare for 105-minutes or a $5 fare for 24-hours via the app. To get the reduced fare cost, you will need to use an MCard until the new fare collection system rolls out. Current prices are listed below.

Can I receive a refund?
While MCTS does not provide cash refunds, in limited circumstances, we may be able to provide an MCard to resolve a fare purchase.
