Leave Something Behind? Check Lost & Found!

Milwaukee, WI – If you’ve ever forgotten something on a Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) bus, don’t worry! Found items are constantly being turned in to our Lost & Found Department, and there’s a pretty good chance we’ve found what you’re looking for.

Each year, MCTS processes roughly 6,000 lost items! Here’s what we see come through most often:

  1. Wallets
  2. Cell phones
  3. Backpacks
  4. Glasses
  5. Chargers
  6. Keys
  7. Work/School IDs
  8. Lunch Bags
  9. Umbrellas
  10. Gloves
  11. Hats
  12. Canes

In addition to your every day, run of the mill items, we also process some odd ones. After all, each of our riders is unique, so it only makes sense that we find some unique items onboard our buses. Some of the stranger items we’ve found include bowling balls, a patio table umbrella, an entire suit, a vacuum cleaner and musical instruments.

Have you lost an item? To see if your item was found, call our Lost & Found Department hotline, 414-937-3206 or 711 (TRS), from 8 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. If we found your item we’ll let you know where you can pick it up. Lost and Found items are held for 14 days total; if unclaimed, items are donated to Goodwill, the Lion’s Club or the military.
