PLAN YOUR TRIP

How do I plan a trip?
It’s easy! You can plan a trip by entering a destination in the Where do you want to go? field of the main screen, selecting your preferred trip, and booking it when you’re ready.

Your starting point defaults to Your Current Location. You can also enter an alternate starting point.

TRACK YOUR BUS

How do I track my bus?

  • “Next Arrivals" are based on live GPS feeds according to the vehicle's GPS. Accuracy can vary depending on the quality of the signal available.

  • “Fixed Timetables" are the expected schedule, not a live bus. These times are compiled from MCTS timetables.

PAY YOUR FARE

How do I download the new app?
Download the Umo app on your smartphone from either the iOS App Store (for iPhone devices) and Google Play Store (for Android devices).

How do I create an account?

  1. Open the app and tap Get Started.
  2. The app works best when you allow it to identify your location, giving you access to WisGo and all the local information you need to plan, buy and track your next trip.
  3. Tap Set Up Account.
  4. Set up your account with a mobile phone number, email or username and password.

After you register your mobile device and create a Umo account, you can then:

  1. Plan your trip – Plan your trip anywhere, at any time, and find your next bus with your own preferences such as arrival time, departure time, fewest transfers, less walking.
  2. Track your bus – Access estimated bus arrival info data for timely trip planning.
  3. Pay a fare – You can purchase a fare using My Wallet in the app. You can pay through the app using a credit card or debit card only.

How do I buy a fare?
NEW!
Once you buy a fare through the app, it activates immediately! So only buy the fare when you’re ready to use it.
WisGo offers two types of fares:

  • $2 – 105-minute fare – The fare is valid for 105 minutes instead of 90 minutes, giving you some extra time from purchase to validation.
  • $5 – 24-hour fare – The 24-hour fare (day pass) allows you unlimited rides within the day that you purchase them (ex. If you buy the fare at 8:00 a.m., it is good until 7:59 a.m. the next morning).

Does a fare expire?
Yes. Fares expire within 105 minutes (for a 105-minute fare) or 24-hours (for a 24-hour fare).

Can I add my MCARD funds to the app?
No. You may continue to use your MCard balance until early 2023.

When can I use the fare I purchase from the app?
You must use it immediately upon purchase. It is best to book your trip only when you are ready to use your fare.

How do I purchase a group fare?
The group fare purchase option is not currently available via the WisGo fare collection system. The account-based system operates on individual accounts. We are looking at the possibility of enabling one account to buy multiple passes in a single purchase once the full rollout occurs in the fall.

Can a parent load a credit card into an account?
Yes. A parent can log into their child’s account on the mobile app and load a credit card into their child’s account. Note: the app will not allow you to purchase a child’s fare at the reduced price until this fall. Fares purchased via the app activate immediately so if you prefer stored value, the MCard is an option.

How much is the fare for children?
The Umo App doesn’t currently offer a reduced fare option, so you can purchase a $2 fare for 105-minutes or a $5 fare for 24-hours via the app. To get the reduced fare cost, you will need to use an MCard until the fall, when the new fare collection system rolls out. Current prices are listed below.

Age MCard Fare Cash Fare
0-5 years  free free
6-11 years $1.10 $1.10
12-64 years $2.00 $2.25

What do I show the bus operator?
When you board the bus, share your Show Code screen in the wallet on your mobile app.

How do I purchase a transfer?
Transfers are automatically included in whichever fare you buy. Purchasing the 105-minute fare allows you to ride as many buses as you'd like within 105 minutes. Purchasing the 24-fare allows you to ride as many buses in 24 hours.

Can I receive a refund?
While MCTS does not provide cash refunds, in limited circumstances, we may be able to provide an MCard to resolve a fare purchase. Riders with questions about unused tickets from the previous Ride MCTS App can contact MCTS Customer Service at (414) 937-0470 (Voice) or 711 (TRS) to transfer the remaining balance to an MCard.

GENERAL

Why did you replace the Ride MCTS app with WisGo powered by Umo?
In late February, we were informed that our Ride MCTS app creator was leaving the market and the Ride MCTS app would no longer be supported. This was nine months before our new fare collection system would be ready for our riders. We decided to provide our riders with a temporary solution, a scaled-down version of the new fare collection system’s app, WisGo powered by Umo. It was important to us to provide our riders with a mobile solution because we know many of you rely on the app to plan your trips, track your bus, and pay your fare. More mobile app features will be available come fall. Thank you for your patience.
